FOOD SAFETY MANAGER TRAINING CERTIFICATION
We have two options available for Associates who need their Texas Food Safety Manager Certification: The Texas Food Safety Manager Course and The Texas Food Safety Manager Exam. Although recommended, completion of the Texas Food Safety Manager Course is NOT required in order to take the Texas Food Safety Manager Exam.
Approved by the American National Standards Institute and the Conference for Food Protection (ANSI-CFP) and the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Texas Food Safety Manager Course serves as a study guide for all those who are preparing for certification as a Food Safety Manager. Upon completion of this course, you will develop a better understanding of food safety, its importance and those who enforce it. You will be able to describe the different types of food-borne illness and causes; discuss the types of biological, physical and chemical contamination; define temperature control; recognize the importance of proper personal hygiene in the workplace; and identify cleaning, sanitation and facility design. This course, available in English or Spanish, takes eight hours to complete and costs $55.25.
The Texas Food Safety Manager Exam is a two hour, timed exam. It is approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services, and is a fully recognized Food Protection Management Examination. Upon completion, you will be able to print out your certificate. The certificate, along with your photo ID, and any additional fees, will need to be taken to the local health department. The health department will issue a Food Manager Card and will catalog your information as a recognized Food Protection Manager within the State of Texas. The cost of this course is $38.25. The cost of this course completed in Spanish is $45.00.
